# Start Here: Claude Certification Quest

Welcome. This course is for people who are new to AI. You do not need coding. You do not need GitHub. You do not need Netlify. You do not need Vercel.

You only need:

- A web browser.
- A Google account for NotebookLM.
- Access to Claude.
- Curiosity and a little patience.

## Your Goal

By the end, you will know how to:

- Use NotebookLM to study from trusted sources.
- Use Claude to draft, summarize, brainstorm, and practice.
- Write clear prompts.
- Check AI answers instead of trusting them blindly.
- Avoid sharing private or sensitive information.
- Prepare for an Anthropic beginner AI fluency course or assessment.

## Step 1: Open NotebookLM

1. Go to `https://notebooklm.google.com`.
2. Sign in with a Google account.
3. Create a new notebook.
4. Name it `Claude Certification Quest`.

If you do not have a Google account, create one first at `https://accounts.google.com/signup`.

## Step 2: Add Your First Sources

Add these files from this folder as NotebookLM sources:

- `source-pack.md`
- `mission-cards.md`
- `prompt-cards.md`
- `learner-workbook.md`
- `answer-key-and-rubric.md`
- `notebooklm-teaching-bundle.md`
- `media-bundle-for-notebooklm.md`
- `notebooklm-feature-playbook.md`
- `notebooklm-studio-artifact-prompts.md`
- `learner-passport-template.md`

If NotebookLM asks whether you want to upload, paste text, or add a link, choose whichever is easiest. For the first practice, copying and pasting the text is fine.

## Step 3: Ask Your First Question

In NotebookLM, ask:

```text
Explain this study program to me like I am completely new to AI.
```

Save the answer as a note. This is your first inventory item.

## Step 4: Turn On Tutor Mode

In the NotebookLM chat settings, choose `Learning Guide` if it is available.

If there is a custom style option, use this:

```text
Act like a friendly game guide for complete beginners. Teach first, show one example, give one tiny practice task, then quiz only after practice.
```

## Step 5: Create Your Study Map

Ask NotebookLM:

```text
Create a simple study guide for the Claude Certification Quest. Organize it by worlds, missions, and win conditions.
```

This becomes your map.

## Step 6: Create The World Map

In Studio, create a Mind Map.

Use this prompt:

```text
Make a mind map for Claude Certification Quest. Put Beginner AI Fluency in the center. Show the worlds, prompt formula, safety rules, verification, Claude workflows, and Final Boss.
```

Click one branch and ask NotebookLM to explain it more simply.

## Step 7: Create Memory Coins

In Studio, create Flashcards.

Use this prompt:

```text
Create beginner flashcards for the most important terms in this notebook.
```

These flashcards are your memory coins. Review them before every checkpoint battle.

## Step 8: Create A Checkpoint Battle

In Studio, create a Quiz.

Use this prompt:

```text
Quiz me on World 0 with 5 beginner questions. Ask one question at a time. Wait for my answer before giving feedback.
```

Do not worry if you miss something. Missing is how you find the next mission.

## Step 9: Make The Media Console

In Studio, create these optional review tools after you have read the lesson:

- Audio Overview: podcast review mode.
- Video Overview: lesson cutscene.
- Infographic: wall poster.
- Slide Deck: instructor or learner review deck.
- Data Table: quest ledger, if your NotebookLM account shows that option.

Use the exact prompts in `notebooklm-studio-artifact-prompts.md`.

## Step 10: Use Claude For Practice

Open Claude and try this:

```text
I am a beginner learning to use AI. Help me improve this prompt:
"Tell me about AI."
Make it clearer using Task + Context + Audience + Format + Constraints.
```

Save your improved prompt in your notes.

## The Game Rules

- Flashcards are memory coins.
- Quizzes are checkpoint battles.
- Audio Overviews are podcast review mode.
- Video Overviews are lesson cutscenes.
- Mind Maps are the world map.
- Infographics are wall posters.
- Slide Decks are review decks.
- Data Tables are quest ledgers.
- Saved notes are your inventory.
- Citations are evidence clues.
- Source checkboxes are the source filter.
- XP Boost missions are optional.
- The Final Boss is a practice quiz and your AI User Passport.

## Safety Rule

Do not paste passwords, private customer data, payment information, secrets, private documents, or sensitive business records into AI tools unless you have explicit permission and understand the privacy rules.

## When You Feel Stuck

Ask NotebookLM:

```text
I am stuck. Explain the next step in simpler words and give me only one action to do now.
```

Ask Claude:

```text
Coach me through this like I am brand new. Ask me one question at a time.
```
